AP- Ooops, term 4!

hey guys,

i simply did NOT have time to appropriately grade your book reviews last night- at least not to do them and do them well. As such, they will be a term 4 grade. The whole class is in A and B range for term 3 so I'm not going to worry! Thanks for getting them in, etc., and I'll see you all next week. Mr. P has the practice tests- do your best on them, no worries, and don't cheat by peeking ahead! you're only cheating yourself! remember, this is a participation grade and nothing else but it will give you a good idea of how you'll do on the actual AP exam. Enjoy!

~Ms. Scharf ;)

Term 3 Extra Credit

Hello to all my 10th grade classes!

For 3rd term, I generally offer an extra credit assignment. I ask that you, if you want to, read Nathaniel Hawthorne's The Blithedale Romance. It is about 250 pages, but a really great read. You may remember Hawthorne from works like The Scarlet Letter. He was a semi-transcendentalist of his time.

Now for the assignment: Honors, a 5-7 page, C1 a 4-6 page book review. That means that you not only summarize the book but its place in historical importance, particularly in reference to this class.

See me if you have any questions. All those interested in this assignment must complete it and hand it in by 3/31/08. Enjoy!
